In 84, Sodom, Kreator and Destruction were among the first to fuel the fire of the almighty German thrash metal scene. What an awesome and brain-blowing era, all this noise, all this leather, all this frenzy! The Sentence Of Death poster was hanging over my bed and Infernal Overkill was in this endless rotation of the 85 summer with Hell Awaits, Dealing With It, Screams From The Gutter, Morbid Tales, Tales of Terror, Animosity, Raging Violence... Sorry for the time-travelling again. But records speak to me louder than photographs. Now Destruction didn't seduce me as much with their following releases, and although the come-back albums since All Hell Breaks Lose are great, I lost interest after the killer Metal Discharge, and finally stopped buying their stuff: this is why you do not get the 5 or 6 other albums. Get all the missing titles from the amazing Old Tendencies. But you do get The Least Successful Human Cannonball, although it is regarded as the ultimate repulsion by most fans and the whole band: I totally love the thing. It is an incredible hard rock album, I like it much more than the newest stuff. It does not sound like Destruction, but it is completely amazing nonetheless. In no way is it the Load or Cold Lake of Destruction. It simply fucking rocks. Release From Agony was wrongfully tagged as LP (it's a CD rip). Legion Of Andromeda - Iron Scorn,
2015 CD Album Crucial Blast - CBR111 It is time to get munched and swallowed by a giant black monster! This Iron Scorn cracks your skeleton and crushes the remaining powder into the finest ready-to-snort flour with its hostile bulldozing machinery of slow pain. This is is Noisezilla in action, this is Japan taking over the throne of Godflesh and dragging its corpse into the rusted landfills of hell. There is a single beat on the entire album that carries the monolithic riffs and the horrible incantations. It is like one long torture song of Coffins with machines. This is the heaviness of what they play on planets that have a gravity of 1000 g. This album is obscenely great and proportionately bad for your health. but nevermind, I'll play it another dozen times today, fuck yeah. Crucial gigadeathdozer forever heavier! One also used to blindly buy some shit according to wild descriptions from flyers and catalogs, labels (eg. I had to own every release by Alchemy Records) or just because the artwork promised great audio content (this is why I bought the weird-looking LP from that new band Voïvod). It was then only logical to subscribe to the Panx bi-monthly compilation series. Nasty Savage blipped on my radar on the legendary Metal Massacre VI (the best one). From then on, it's been a constant bliss of petals and cream, from the early slower heavy thrash to the complex bomb of Penetration Point (my favorite), the absolute masterpiece. Nasty Savage developed a unique sound that combined NWOBHM roots with the heaviosity of Celtic Frost, the thrashness of Hallow's Eve and the velocity and catchiness of Zoetrope. Sort of. All of it through their first class execution and song writing. One of these classic black stars that were not just yet another clone of Slayer or Metallica. 7 Seconds - The Crew,
1984 Vinyl LP Album Better Youth Organization - BYO 005 02. 7 Seconds - Walk Together Rock Together, 1986 CD Album Reissue Better Youth Organization - BYO 10CD It was the epoch of minor threats against society system decontrol and of toxic reasons to have fun, when the government was already a big issue because of their bad brains of dirty rotten imbeciles. The battalion of saints were overwhelmed by the stupids, the bastards and all the stalins in a major chaotic discord. We were wishing for millions of dead cops while fearless Iranians from hell and other zero boys were discharging their raw power and bad religion in a loud blast against unsuspecting electro hippies. It was the epoch of poison ideas that have flourished until today, the surrender of common sense and basic thought to heresy- we said no means no, but they never care, the victims families can just go fuck themselves and die in the global inferno. But had it really degenerated? The prophecy of doom has never been wrong, the atavistic always wins. It is sad to think that the kings of oblivion seem to rule and the only spunk bubble of relief comes from music seven seconds at a time. But there might be hope outside warfare, genöcide and sabotage organized barbarians. Let's not have the terrorizers produce more carcasses and pools of blood for a devious public. But the Koran single-handedly defeats the Bible in the stupidity department. It is a fucking gallery of doom. It has absolute zero philosophical value, it is lower than a Star Wars movie. It is shockingly empty of any scenario, any tale, any parable or even the simplest smart one-liner. It is an endless litany of threats of violence, murder and eternal torture, from the great and loving god or from his true followers. It is fucking evil. It's all in there: hate, scorn, abject submission, murder, genocide, slavery, rape, ablation, mutilation, decapitation, in this world and in the next. I am not interpreting, the plain, explicit words are all there, verse after verse. The Koran is the best black metal and goregrind source of lyrics ever. My version is the French 80s translation edited by Bordas. I checked the worst paragraphs on other languages versions (English, German) and they are all there: I am not interpreting or misreading. I am truly horrified, and the most horrifying is to understand that most followers of that is called Islam have obviously not read the Koran. Just like most Christians never read the Bible from cover to cover. Otherwise they would have all rolled their eyes, facepalmed in exasperation and picked up some Aristotle, if they truly wanted to absorb antique wisdom that still applies today.
Read the Koran and be stunned. It makes me cringe but I must admit it ranks much lower than other superstition sources. Long live Hare Krishna and the reincarnation booth.
Now I started another superstition book: Thomas Piketty's lastest brick of propaganda (an easy brick, I went through half of it in a few hours). Try it, you won't be disappointed. Another few weeks of great toilet-sessions reading.
We must read books, especially the worst ones. The Koran is the worst thing I ever read. EVER! THE USER GUIDE FOR CRAZIES!

Cro-Mags - Live In Germany 1991, 2016 File FLAC Unofficial Release x 12 Church Of Zer - Zer4 Let us start 2016 with a classic among classics. In 2015 we hailed the Atheist legacy, today we dive into full Krishna worship. Cro-Mags are the zero-default band that has banged my head for exactly 30 years. I find not a single bad song on the entire discography. Only killer riffs, amazing build-ups, so welcome metal influences and superior vocalization (from both skinheads). Yes, Alpha Omega is a perfection of metalized melodic groove thrash. Yes, NDE is a marvel of recycling of the Best Wishes axioms and yes, Revenge, which features Rocky George from ST, is a killer recycling of the Age Of Quarrel formula, even the NoFx sections are great (BTW the songs of the White Devil MCD are all featured on Revenge). Cro-Mags innovated the tough guy hardcore sound, they were heavier than Agnostic Front and Warzone. From this era, style and city, only Crumbsuckers impressed me as much as Cro-Mags. I have been a non-stop Cro-Mags fan forever. Time I am. Their live performances were awesome, until some other versions of the band surfaced in the late 90s (I was disappointed by the Leeway-backed/Joseph fronted one). I don't care about the Krishna bullshit anymore that I care about the Jah or Satan or working-class-revenge feebleness of other bands. If I had to care about lyrics, I would have to throw away at least 6530 albums from my shelves. Cro-Mags are firmly set in the EZTT among Bad Brains, Slayer, Victims Family, Raven, Celtic Frost, MDC and the other eternal immortal heroes. Happy new 2016. Amen. Remove brackets and unzip: [the ozer side of zerness] !ZER Cro-Mags, White Devil ZER! PS: I wanted to do a Pneuma Hagion post this week. This is some killer heavy death metal, with those sewer vocals and straight forward pummeling riffs from the 90s. It's generic but fucking great. However they sell their music for $1 per EP, which I consider a more than fair price (compared to the stupid $10 some bands or labels sell digital albums - at this price, I want a CD). Therefore I won't post the PH stuff here and encourage all fans of the dark side to click and spend $3 for 9 songs. You pay for a cellphone, you can afford it. Speaking of the dark side, I accompanied a bunch of nieces and daughters to the movies to watch the Star Wars disaster. It's a disaster. It does not even look great. It's a bad rehash of the first movie (which I liked when it came out, but I was 8), but a lot more cretin, it's an astonishing achievement in stupidity. I'll never understand why this shit franchise is supposed to be classic, why anyone should find any philosophy/"societal commentary" in there or why the fuck anyone above the age of 8 would want to watch any of those movies 11 times. What reassures me is that among the kids I went with, not one over 9 liked it. Fuck Star Wars, double-fuck the posers who write essays about it, triple-fuck the media who make it look like profound art. Quadruple-fuck modern art. Listen to Howls Of Ebb. Amen. |
