Simple catchy songs with much energy and sweat and heat, that's what we need! The first four entries here are mandatory records in the league of early Anvil, Saxon and Twisted Sister. Just brilliant! The following are also excellent with an added heavy metal vibe - the 80s were rolling forward. The singer/guitarist is the cousin of Ronnie James Dio, what a family. the rods + in the raw, 1981/1983 wild dogs, 1982 live + let them eat metal, 1983/1984 Classic in the sense of generic, and classic in the sense of reference - the Rods make golden classic hard rock inspired by the 70s sound of Deep Purple, Saxon, early Judas Priest et al. If you like songs about girls and booze and sweat on a hard rock background, the Rods are the thing. The drummer also has a classic career as a producer on 80s records by Possessed, Exciter, Anthrax, Megadeth... and the guitarist/singer has solid family classicness by being the cousin of Ronnie James Dio.
