There are no sufficient superlatives in any human language to adequately qualify the universal zerring greatness of RKL, who sit firmly on one of the largest thrones of the Eternal Zer Top Ten. And as everybody knows, the EZTT has been the only true holy entity in any liturgy since the dawn of space and time. Until any god, ghost or ghoul proves itself, only the EZTT is worthy of worship and awe. And up there RKL shine and rise from every angle. RKL gave the greatest and craziest live performances you could attend. Amazing musicians, amazing songwriting. Only RKL can make a Kiss song sound acceptable. That maniac bass player. I think he went on to fame and fortune in some MTV-pop-punk band. Rock'n'roll Nightmare screams HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE while the live in Berlin album RULES THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE OF LIVE ALBUMS. You have to be Slayer, Raven, Bad Brains or Motörhead to produce an equally killer live album. Now, Reactivate was a bit of a disappointment, or am I the only one to find it a bit amorphous? I was sacred to see it released by Epitaph and I was right. Yet the great Riches To Rags reset the balance, great farewell record. RKL ruled and we will never see them again because the majority of the members died. RKL is a true legend, but not a myth. NB: I had to rip the vinyls, it is RKL after all. But back then I played the live record twice a day for over 16 months and now it has 3 major bumping scratches. I did my best to edit them out, but I suggest to get the CD rip as well. No one (not Gwar, nor MDC nor the Cro-mags nor the Bad Brains nor Slayer) could match the intensity of their live set, I've never seen such a fucking hot bass player and actually a complete band as such a perfect musical machine with frantic bodily movements and fluids. Their live album is the best live recording on Earth. On August 1, I was young and naïve and only posted the live record, now that I am wise and fat, I'm delivering the rest (might not be that hard to download anyway). These guys were (half are now dead) over the top musicians (and for the gossip, one of the guitar players used to be in DRI many centuries ago). These albums are monster killer collection of terminal classic rock'n'roll hardcore (also called nardcore in specialist circles), except maybe the medium-cooked 'reactivate' which carries a hard rock tone that does not really fit. RKL - greatest hits double live in Berlin, USA 1989 RKL was a truly amazing band, Bad Brains level and above: fantastic musicians, greatest song catalog since rock, punk and hardcore were invented and excellent spirit - controlled rage with guitar solos, jaw-dropping drums & bass and a solid dose of humour. This is probably the best live record ever released! Songs from 'Rock'N'Roll Nightmare' and 'Revenge is a Beautiful Feeling' plus a full-speed KISS 'Berlin rock city' cover. 3 of these guys are now dead so listen carefully. ULTIMATE ZER!!!!
