Avenger - The Slaughter Never Stops, 2014 CD Album Stereo      Rocksector Records - RSRCD1243 Requested centuries ago, finally rezerred. Avenger erupt from the bowels of NWOBHM and particularly from the incestuous gang formed by Satan, Atomkraft, Tysondog, Blitzkrieg etc. Brian Ross (Satan/Blitzkrieg/Blind Fury) sings on the Too Wild To Tame EP, Ian Swift sang in Atomkraft, Satan and Tysondog, and all these bands swapped drummers, guitarists and so on. The first copy I bought of Tysondog's Beware Of the Dog even had Avenger's Blood Sport B side (a true collector pressing error). Avenger are an awesome band and truly underrated - at least as much as Chateaux and Tygers Of Pan Tang, faithful to the style popularized by early Judas Priest, Saxon and Maiden albums (their Killers cover on the new album is... killer!). Blood Sports is still my favorite, it is almost speed metal, catchy yet dark and highly energetic. Of course, intense soloing and clean vocals in spandex abound, but that's what we expect after almost 35 years of headbanging happiness! Avenger triplazer heavymetalizer forever! Remove brackets and unzip: [blood zer] !ZER Avenger ZER!

Fucking tired of the infect Hollywood crap? This is your best replacement bet, 85 minutes of pure bliss:

Avenger

blood sports + too wild to tame 7" + Hot'n'Heavy Express, UK 1983/1984 (Anthology CD 1) killer elite, UK 1985 (Anthology CD 2) Never mind the spandex, NWOBHM fans know that Avenger are the best (reunited in 2005 !). Raven too, but this is an Avenger post. "Blood Sports" is one universal masterpiece with an early Judas Priest vibe and the power and speed of Saxon - something like "killing machine" and "stained class" intersected with "the power and the glory" and "strong arm of the law". The melodies are totally great (much less cheesy then Dickinson-era Maiden), the execution is powerful and tight, the solos kill and the whole is enveloped in a cold, pre-speed metal atmosphere. I bought these albums when they came out, never stopped listening to them and 24 years later, this is more than ever KILLER TRUE HEAVY METAL ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! Double CD rip. CD 1: Track 1 is a track from the Various Artists - One Take No Dubs 12" EP. Tracks 2-3 is the single "Too Wild To Tame" Tracks 4-12 is the debut album "Blood Sports". 1.
