On Planet Hardcore, few bands can claim the same legendary status, as much for the killer records as for the nasty reputation. Except Cro-Mags of course. No introduction is necessary I guess (I hope!) to their raging hardcore punk of 1983/1984 or the heavy crossover thrash of the following releases. The LP rips are pretty noisy due to excessive playing. I was 18 and could not stop headbanging over Cause For Alarm (which features the Carnivore drummer and that made me all the more excited). The two live albums are absolutely amazing and offer a great selection of the early songs in much tighter and percussive versions. Then they returned in the 90s to a punk rock sound that I did not care about, I just found nobody to buy my copy of Riot Riot Upstart. I have not heard the newer albums, which appear to return to the heaviness of metal as far as reviews go, did I miss anything? Let me doubt the invincible class of Cause For Alarm and Liberty & Justice is back. Now shave your head and bang it against the floor to the tune of the Eliminator!
