Facedowninshit has a lot in common with Eyehategod, with a stronger tendency to accelerate and burst out in thrash, especially on the amazing first album. I almost never listen to the second album which is a little weak, then the third album brings back high consumption of Facedowninshit for it is a killer rendition of the EHG sound. Not a lot of originality here, but twelve tons of energy and brutality with the skin-pealing kind of sonic attacks we learned to love in the early 90s: very dense sound, great groove, heaviness as a way of life and blood everywhere. This is just a masterpiece of sludge death and doom punk, it is triplazeringly evil and amazing! Fans of Autopsy, Abscess and Pungent Stench with a side of old Exhumed shall experience an intense and constant deathgasm during it 47 minutes of hell. Drop all your previous information about Gut and just enjoy this massive sleaze fest that sounds like an invasion of horny bulldozers driven by obese zombies. This album is the one fucking killer entry here, all previous material is discretionary, but you have no choice, you have to get swallowed by Disciples Of Smut and listen to your bowels boiling and your brain melting and your bones cracking while the head bangs against that radiator with the infectious choruses. The sludge has majority vote on the first LP, then the grinding comes in in great shape on the second to finally dominate the panorama on the third album. Slow or fucking fast, the level of oil is maximized in all songs and we can bang our head on the nearest sidewalk at all times. The general impression is one of great oily slabs of concrete falling on your face. It is a great experience - one of the highlights of the sludgiverse AND of the grindiverse.
