Fear Factory - Soul Of A New Machine,
1992 CD Album Roadrunner Records, Roadrunner Records - RR 9160-2, RRD 9160 Monster alert! That classic first album by Fear Factory is a monument of zer. Fans of Napalm Death mark II | Righteous Pigs | Lemming Project gather around the fire and inhale deeply. The groove intersects at the right junctures with the grinding thrash and the balance between bulldozing and machine gun submits the listener to its full utility. An essential ride! Explosion of the zermeter! But I was turned off by the following album, and never listened to any of their successors. What am I missing? you're not missing anything; a lot of machine gun & triggers :)
ReplyDeleteAfter the second album, they became a cut rate nu metal band with industrial sound effects. They earned a lifetime pass with this album, and boy are they using it...
ReplyDeleteyou missed...a great cover of Dog day sunrise (Head of david)
ReplyDeleteIndeed lol
DeleteA lot, if you ask me. But still, it depends. You might love it, you might hate it. Anyways... check out "Autonomous Combat System". Mind blowing, and kinda like the sound of things to come.
ReplyDeleteIf you didn't care for the second release, then your not missin' a thing. Personally I liked the first 2, then they didn't do anything for me after that...
