Posting was slow this past couple of weeks because I was on vacation. The pace will now return to less slow, maybe. Anyway, let's have a full new serving of Crisis, the amazing band that blew me away in 1996 when I randomly bought the Deathshead Extermination album. This was another completely miraculous blind date with soundgasm. I love it when it happens, you pick a random CD at the store hoping it won't be too awful and it actually grows you another tumor. We listened to that album night and day. The other three albums are great too. But... Deathshead Extermination is a classic in the family. Brain torsion, subtle torture with a fork and throat crunching are on the menu. I wouldn't know how to tag it, maybe rocking doom thrash? Silverfish and Coroner at the wedding of Rollins and Sepultura? Who cares? Listen and bleed! !ZER Crisis ZER! Remove brackets and unzip: [cidre] |

The finest track I've heard from Crisis is on the Cry Now, Cry Later 2x7" compilation. I hope I'm proved wrong with the albums I haven't heard. Thank you for these.
ReplyDeleteSad about Gilliam. Although he only directed this one. Perhaps he just chose a bad screenplay?
ReplyDeleteMaybe, but should I care ? His name is the big marketing point for this film.
DeleteIronically, the movie Grand Budapest Hotel that came out recently is great and looks heavily influenced by Gilliam's past work. I'd highly recommend this over the Zero Crapoem for a fresh Gilliam experience.
I'll pass on Budapest, as I don't really care for Wes Anderson's movies. My wife will love it, though.
