Paradise Lost - At The BBC, 2003 CD Compilation Strange Fruit - SFRSCD114 live 1992/1993 Not requested, and for the very first time: the very almighty doom death of Paradise Lost! The first three LPs have been a major pillar of the Church of Zer since they were offered to the ecstatic masses. The beautiful ugliness of this slow dirge was all that was needed after the introduction by Distortion X and Hellhammer to the much revered slow paces of doom. Icon was a downer with its offensive Metallica mimicking, but appears a great album nonetheless. However the following releases triggered none of these positive feelings, although I heard some good stuff from the last couple of albums. But nothing beats the early stuff, especially that brutal live bootleg yellow EP, argh! Long live the early 90s! Doom until the spine goes back into the skull!
