I still can't decide what is my favorite 1986 thrash metal album: Reign In Blood or Darkness Descends. Allow me another 30 years of manic headbanging to ponder. We Have Arrived had already been a deadly bomb that had rendered 1984 an even most crucial year after Haunting The Chapel, Apocalyptic Raids, In The Sign Of Evil, Sentence Of Death, Ride The Lightning, amen. But it was only a warm-up preamble to its incredible successor. More complexity made the last two albums less blatantly voracious, yet these are still dark giants in their own realms. Darkness Descends remains of course the epitome of darkangelry and probably of the whole thrash metal zeriverse, Absolute triplathrash attack! WE WILL GIVE YOU MERCILESS ZER!!!
