Gwar - The Blood Of Gods, 2017 CD Album Metal Blade Records - 3984-15532-2 Launching the second decade of ZER with GWAR seems most appropriate. If you need an introduction to Gwar, crawl out of under your rock. Gwar is the most rocking space beast. Forget about that Star Wars puke and embark on a genuine journey to the ends of the universe! The discography may be arbitrarily divided in three segments: the heavy metal rocking bonanza of 1988-1992 and my two favorite albums: Scumdogs and America. Then you have the punk rock influence that makes the 1994-2000 albums more... punk rock than strictly metal. And then from Violence Has Arrived on, the thrash metal is vigorously incorporated, without sacrificing the rocking and the catchy. Noone is more entertaining than Gwar. If you never caught them live, do it ASAP. Most exhilarating live experience! We brought the daughters to see them 15 years ago, they are still talking about it. Fucking Gwar! There is no bad album, except Beyond Hell, a tedious, uninspired effort in my book. The rest ranges from excellent to über brilliant, specially Live At Mt-Fuji and Bloody Pit Of Horror. The newest album features the new singer after the death from drug overdose of the classic voice of Gwar. That new guy is a perfectly apt replacement and the album is absolutely great. Rock with Gwar until everything becomes nothing! Gwarifcation eternalizer triplazer Gor-Gor headbangizer! Remove brackets and unzip: [gwariversal zerifisticism] !ZER GWAR ZER! |

I agree about GWAR's magnificence live. I wish I could've seen Vulvatron with them. Except one time they came to town with a festival, where every band only played like 15 minutes. And GWAR chose to play that shiite cover of "Carry on my Wayward Son" for anout 7 minutes of their set. It still bring on fury and the heebee jeebees when I think of it. Damn you GWAR! Ha ha! Chef de Pirate.
