The perfect sickness delivered by Dødsengel rank among my favorite black metallurgy of the past decade. Instead of burying your meat under a non-stop barrage of blasts, they drown your meat into palpable nightmares, and you're stuck there. The insanity that haunts every riff and every scream  permeates the rhythmic contortions that drive the whole affair into the pits of infinite tar and oil with bits of bones with worms and half jaws with teeth. Fantastic voyage from the confines of Bethlehem to the cliffs of Darkthrone to the caves of Sigh ! An always moving, morphing, dead-alive beast of sonic abrasion with angles and corridors not dissimilar from the contemporary craziness out of Poland and the Eastern Europe black metal, this is what awaits you. The brilliantly crude and raw production makes it all all the more deranged and seductive, although the larger sound of the newest album is a welcome upgrade. It may be best to start in reverse chronological order if you're new to Dødsengel. Prepare to triplazering death and decay in the multilayered blackiverse !
