Brace yourself, put out the torch and enter the caverns of Diocletian! Their war metal orgy of distortion and blackness bangs heads against the walls of death and we all enjoy the frantic assault on the meat in the tradition of Blasphemy and Sadistik Exekution. From the contemporary cohort of war metallurgists, Diocletian is one major missile launcher. The fan of Malthusian, Impetuous Ritual, Teitanblood and of course Revenge cannot not ingest the entire Diocletian output, the doctor said you must. Slightly less obfuscated and oppressive than Impetuous Ritual, and slightly less distorted than Revenge, the general aesthetic of Diocletian leaves room for riffs to remember and generally more decipherable structures. But this is only relative - this is still WAR METAL! They're not talking the language of polished, computerized black metal with dramatic keyboards. They're not talking the magnificent, gut wrenching and tortuous Polish BM language either (my favorite branch with war metal), no, Diocletian manifest the extreme noise terror of maximum doom and destruction from slow crushing to extreme speed ravage. And they are among the best at it! If not sure about how much you would like to have your auditory canals raped, try Gesundrian first, it is their "most accessible" offering (especially in term of sound production).
