The Brood - The Brood, 1986 Vinyl LP Album      Profile Records - PRO-1216 Incredibly after all these years of zerification, the Church is still able to exhume great 80s records that have not yet been ripped and posted. The Brood were the prequel to Uncle Slam, ergo the true zerist already salivates for classic Venice-team crossover of the ST | Excel | No Mercy sort. There is a lot of rocking heavy metal  in the Brood's delivery of that Californian chapel of the crossover manufacture, and also a lot of excellent playing, this is no drunk punk demo. The Church ranks this album right after Say Uncle, not by much, and easily before the last two Uncle Slam albums. The songs are great, the energy is great, and we all smile down the time-travelling experience again. Apparently a reissue is coming out soon from Divebomb Records.
