When I saw that record in the metal section of the local store, with green underwear on the cover, it blipped on my neuron. Underwear! Then I noticed the vicious black sticker stating "Ex-Carnivore" and that was it: I've always had to own anything even remotely connected to Carnivore. And Slow, Deep & Hard became the album of a lifetime. The level was blocked at 11, this was love to the level of Eisenvater, Primus, Bad Brains, Slayer, Victims Family and so on. The EZTT is not large eough. The degree of addiction to T.O.N. can be gauged by the the number of bootlegs I bought in that first decade of fanaticism. And yes, I bought a copy of the August 1995 issue of Playgirl (strictly for documentation purposes).  Musically, except October Rust that I find a little weak, the entire catalog is worth genuflection and awe. I could single out Dead Again as even greater than the post-Bloody Kisses releases. Family favorite, overzer forever hypraterrazer! Amen. I am almost frustrated for having lived the past 20 years in total ignorance of Big Hair, but now it is repaired at last. For Big Hair deliver some wild, heavy and incisive mix of Victims Family and Primus, with a violin. Essential killer head blower! They rock you to the bottom of your underwear, they shake that spinal cord and then thy neuron is all inverted. This is fucking brilliant and totally in the league of the best crazy bands in that style. Big Hair is a pure product of the experimental 90s and they totally succeeded in their sonic quest. In 84, Sodom, Kreator and Destruction were among the first to fuel the fire of the almighty German thrash metal scene. What an awesome and brain-blowing era, all this noise, all this leather, all this frenzy! The Sentence Of Death poster was hanging over my bed and Infernal Overkill was in this endless rotation of the 85 summer with Hell Awaits, Dealing With It, Screams From The Gutter, Morbid Tales, Tales of Terror, Animosity, Raging Violence... Sorry for the time-travelling again. But records speak to me louder than photographs. Now Destruction didn't seduce me as much with their following releases, and although the come-back albums since All Hell Breaks Lose are great, I lost interest after the killer Metal Discharge, and finally stopped buying their stuff: this is why you do not get the 5 or 6 other albums. Get all the missing titles from the amazing Old Tendencies. But you do get The Least Successful Human Cannonball, although it is regarded as the ultimate repulsion by most fans and the whole band: I totally love the thing. It is an incredible hard rock album, I like it much more than the newest stuff. It does not sound like Destruction, but it is completely amazing nonetheless. In no way is it the Load or Cold Lake of Destruction. It simply fucking rocks. Release From Agony was wrongfully tagged as LP (it's a CD rip).
