Invocation, Stargazer - Harbringer / H.A.S.T.U.R.,
1999 CD Dies Irae Productions - DAY004 CD , Compilation Contains 12 songs by: Invocation, Stargazer 02. StarGazer - The Scream That Tore The Sky, 2005 CD Album Agonia Records - ARCD014 03. StarGazer - A Great Work Of Ages, 2010 CD Album Profound Lore Records - PFL 065. 04. Stargazer - A Merging To The Boundless, 2014 CD Album Nuclear War Now! Productions - ANTI-GOTH 276 Zer from the death star! Lovers of advanced death metal crave Stargazer forever. This is the refined stuff done by accomplished musicians (those damn bass guitar lines could be from DiGiorgio) who love composing songs more than destroying the listener's aural conduits. It is fast, dark and mean - it is death metal - but it is also memorable, virtuoso and flowing like pieces of art instead of lava and blood vomit full of nails. It is polished aggression. You might call it progressive death metal. As far as references go, Atheist comes to mind (mine at least, every tine I hear this level of mastery), as well as early Sentenced, more or less. Fans of Portal might want to hear the 1999 split - Invocation featured two Portal founding members. Another high density star in the never-failing deathiverse of triplazering madnesssssss! Gwar - The Blood Of Gods, 2017 CD Album Metal Blade Records - 3984-15532-2 Launching the second decade of ZER with GWAR seems most appropriate. If you need an introduction to Gwar, crawl out of under your rock. Gwar is the most rocking space beast. Forget about that Star Wars puke and embark on a genuine journey to the ends of the universe! The discography may be arbitrarily divided in three segments: the heavy metal rocking bonanza of 1988-1992 and my two favorite albums: Scumdogs and America. Then you have the punk rock influence that makes the 1994-2000 albums more... punk rock than strictly metal. And then from Violence Has Arrived on, the thrash metal is vigorously incorporated, without sacrificing the rocking and the catchy. Noone is more entertaining than Gwar. If you never caught them live, do it ASAP. Most exhilarating live experience! We brought the daughters to see them 15 years ago, they are still talking about it. Fucking Gwar! There is no bad album, except Beyond Hell, a tedious, uninspired effort in my book. The rest ranges from excellent to über brilliant, specially Live At Mt-Fuji and Bloody Pit Of Horror. The newest album features the new singer after the death from drug overdose of the classic voice of Gwar. That new guy is a perfectly apt replacement and the album is absolutely great. Rock with Gwar until everything becomes nothing! Gwarifcation eternalizer triplazer Gor-Gor headbangizer! Remove brackets and unzip: [gwariversal zerifisticism] !ZER GWAR ZER! |
