| 01. Realm - Endless War, 1988 LP Roadracer Records - RO 9509 1 02. Realm - Suiciety, 1990 LP Roadracer Records - RO 9406 1 When you listen to Holy Terror, Agent Steel or today Realm, you realize Metallica and Megadeth only succeeded out of their second rate cafeteria thanks to the gods of chronology. Holy Terror and Realm should have dominated the charts, not bands having ridiculous singers like Mustaine and Hetfield or parody of drummers like Lars Ulrich. Why is it that the worst standards always win? VHS over Betamax? DOS over Unix? Mötallidäth over Realm? Realm are the ultimate metal fantasy: the velocity of Hirax and the class of Mercyful Fate combined into an invincible speed metal force with the wingspan of Toxik and Watchtower. Talent, writing and intensity, Realm were masters. They didn't sell millions but will always be bigger than the aforementioned gas-station dropouts. Realm of zer! Zer ive been after the lp vinyl version of endless war as the cd production sounds poor to me-many thanks-form stevo
ReplyDeleteI agree with your statement 100%! Realm and Holy Terror should have dominated!
ReplyDeleteTo clarify some confusion about the sound quality of "Endless War", it is the 2007 Metal Mind reissue ONLY that sounds bad. The original 1988 Roadrunner/RC Records version has excellent quality, so definitely download these originals. The 2007 reissue was actually a cassette transfer, and unfortunately, the version everyone is familiar with. I have both versions and the original CD is 100 times superior.
