Deleteget an unpack error, (wrong password at song no. 27)
ReplyDeleteplease repair the upload. track 27 can't be unpacked.
ReplyDeleteI just downloaded the zip, unpacked it with WinRAR and played track 27, no problem. Something failed on your side. Try downloading the zip once more.
DeleteIt works with WinRAR. Tried it before with 7Zip. Thanks
DeleteI also encountered same error notice per track 27 "wrong password?" when using 7Zip. However I shortened the archive name to one character, dragged it to the desktop, and selected "extract all" instead of to a folder, and successfully navigated past the error notice. These errors frequently occur for me because the Zer file paths exceed my system management. Even if I am successful extracting the archives I always rename the Zer files to edit out the band name, album name, etc from each track or else I can encounter excessive file path errors when copying them initially into external hard drives, and also when backing up one hard drive onto another. I'm using Windows 8 and had same errors previously when using XP Pro. I'm largely ignorant in PC architecture and operating system protocol so I always wondered if anyone else experienced these failures with Zer files. Thanks for sharing, the mystery weakens.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great music Zer.

Oh, great point. My software generates file names that comply with the Windows size limit, but only according to my setup: all folders in a "FLAC" folder at the root (Z:\FLAC). Any longer path (Z:\Music\FLAC) might cause trouble with large file titles that are 4 characters short of the Windows limit.
DeleteSorry about that. I will implement a 50% security margin. Thanks for the tip.
Zer,
DeleteI was somewhat worried I might sound ungrateful by mentioning my trouble but it seemed worth the risk given the oddity of the error description of this here particular archive. Thank you for everything you do. It appears my mind was also clouded by some underlying assumption that my newer Windows software was supposed to allow unlimited file names. It was only during music archive extractions that I got tripped up and simply made things work for me rather than trouble-to-shoot. I ain't got enough book learnin' to do better than that, and in the words of Erly Cuyler "I ain't not never gonna will!"
Dang the chemtrails done worked their evil spell on me this mornin'. I'm still goin' back outside unless I gets lost 'round over by the door again. Have a good one.

I am happy if I can fix anything, please forward all complaints in my general direction.
DeleteWindows max file path length is 260 characters. I currently cut it to 250, which obviously triggers problems when my
zip archives are expanded into locations longer than 10 characters. I will limit that to 160 to allow for more space.
