Hallow's Eve - tales of terror, USA 1985 The only relevant comment about this masterpiece is : ZER. I just listened to the new 2008 album "the never ending sleep" and I was so disappointed by the music and the production that I had to listen to "tales of terror" to compensate the frustration. "Tales of terror" is one of the very best metal albums of all times and spaces. It is as classic a monster as "heavy metal maniac", "morbid tales", "kill'em all", "killing is my business", "show no mercy", "executioner's song", "bonded by blood" [insert your favorite 80s speed metal album here], ZER!!!! Only classic songs here, no filler, no bullshit, baffling riffs, superb arrangements, great solos, great vocals, great production, great everything ! Ah no, ugly front cover artwork (yes it is possible to make more stupid artwork than "show no mercy"). BUT BUT BUUUUUUUUUTTTTTT the "History of terror" boxset contains a very very very bad remaster of "tales of terror" : changing pan and gain levels! This utterly SUCKS FOR A DIGITAL REMASTER !!!! Fuck you Metal Blade, do your job properly please. So out of pure frustration I just uploaded the first CD reissue, without the fucking shit from the boxset (I also wonder WTF is supposed to be so cool about having a full CD of inaudible live tracks and bad video footage - but the demos are good add-ons). rip from good CD, not from awful boxset. The next 2 albums are also very good, you can dl them from at least 733 blogs, go get them. Zer. |
