The Very Large Post is all about these compilations that introduced me to many giants like Raw Power, Ludichrist, BGK, TK, Rattus, Sacrilege BC, Possessed, Siege, GISM, Indigesti, S.L.R., Asocial, Hallow's Eve, Gauze, Warcollapse, Jerry's Kids, Gang Green, Septic Death and so many more. Compilations were the internet of the 80s, it is where you discovered such amazing music that you had to spend all your time and scarce money in obscure record stores and distro lists to track down the respective albums and eps of all these unbelievable bands. These compilations shaped my record buying addiction for years. It's not supposed to be the ultimate list, it's only what remains in my collection after stupidly reselling many others to be able to buy more albums. I miss the Punk And Disorderly series! But I mostly got rid of the metal stuff like the early Metal Massacre (where I caught the Slayer and Metallica virus), Speed Metal Hell (I deeply regret the volume 3 with Wehrmacht, Prong, Necrophagia etc.), Lead Weight (Raven!!), Death Metal (Hellhammer!!) etc. And since I also sold that classic grinding Hardcore Holocaust LP, I'm reloading here the 3 CDs extended version Grind Madness At The BBC. Monster rezer! Among all these classic and minor compilations, one of my favorites - besides the mandatory Welcome To 1984, P.E.A.C.E. or Boston Not L.A. - is What Does Not Hurt Us Makes Us Stronger with its evil Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers tracks, evil. Trivial pursuit: S.O.A. is the first band of Henry Rollins, but he does not want people to know. Don't ask, don't tell. More zerred compilations: Skull Thrash Zone (Japanese genius: Doom, Rose Rose, Shellshock etc.), Scandinavian Metal Attack 1 & 2 (Bathory, Oz etc.), A Farewell To Arms (Outo, Gauze, Lipcream, Ghoul, Gastunk, The Execute).
