Along Militant Mothers, FVK were the most satisfying and closest Bad Brains imitation ever, and their music rocks so much you don't care about the resemblance (anymore than with Slayer or Discharge clones). The next two album are also enormous pieces of heavy rock, a bit of metal and many twisted things underneath. Surprisingly (for the Heresy addict in search of more light-speedcore), Can't Decide were not in the über fast darkness business and delivered melodic HC like a heavier SNFU, Sink or Dag Nasty. First I will scare many by stating that Carbonized is essentially a sub-Therion thing, yes, Therion, the Swedish nightmarish knight of elevator dragons, Therion, the high priest of suburban princess-metal. Of course there is a but: BUT Carbonized has musically nothing to do with tv-commercial romantic heavy metal. The first 2 Carbonized records feature fast primitive death metal, and pretty cool at it, in the vein of, yet not as enjoyable as, the first Brutal Truth album.
