Inanna - Live Antiquity, 2020 File FLAC x 6 Not On Label - none 04. Inanna - Void Of Unending Depths, 2022 CD Album Memento Mori - [MEMENTO-CXIV] Accuracy in darkness and a wealth of power are achieved and delivered with passion by this Chilean death team. The first album is a bomb a complex thrashing death of Sepultura and early Morbid Angel from the 80s. Then things advance seriously and higher sophistication is attained on the immense Transfigured, only confirmed with that masterpiece of a killing machine Void Of Unending Depths. The Church can only praise that black star recalling the evil twists of Pestilence, StarGazer, Brutality, Immolation, with visits to Artificial Brain, Anachronism, or Ulcerate, just warmer. This is top class virtuoso death metal that never sacrifices quality headbanging nor sonic flow for the sake of complexity. The live recording proves how good they are. These recordings are rawer than the first two classic albums, this is Voidd at their peak thrash metal deathification, giving birth to the sound of Clandestined. This compilation delivers the demos in chronological order, each one a little more accurate and powerful in its delivery of evil than the previous one. Ninety-five minutes of Japanese meat burning! The low frequency of zerification of the past days was due to the Church being busy with this release.
Now Church operations will completely stop for the next 10 days because it is time to do nothing.

Solitude - Virtual Image
|
01. Solitude - Virtual Image, 2001 CD Mini-Album EP Spiritual Beast - SBCD-0999 The Church was finally able to acquire a copy of the first release of the Japanese Solitude. Like its two classic successors, this "mini album" (36 minutes) deploys addictive, rough heavy metal sitting on the fence of thrash, with that Japanese vibe that makes all of us slaves. It is heavy, dark, catchy and of course pristinely executed, with perfect production. Why did Solitude not conquer the world? Another brick in the wall of the Church! Overkill - The Wings Of War, 2019 CD Album Chaos Reigns - GQCS-90689 29. Overkill - Scorched, 2023 CD Album Nuclear Blast - NBR 6895-2 A proper Overkill post was long overdue at the Church. The opportunity of the new release, another punch in the face, makes it relevant today. For nostalgia reasons, still remembering that hot day of 1985 when the LP was acquired after a 100 km trip to the big city, the favorite Church entry in this monumental discography is Feel The Fire, one of those classic albums of the 80s that delivers only classic, ultra-addictive songs, and of course zero filler. The more the 80s fade in the background, the hotter they become. Overkill deserve eternal praise and admiration for such longevity and their steady output of very high-quality speed and thrash metal. The style navigates between hard rocking heavy metal of the Metal Church side with punk abrasion and the blatantly hostile thrashing of the Exodus sort. There is no bad album here, even the one you are supposed to dislike is great, it is still Overkill. The one thing that Overklill do not do is surprise the fans: when a new album comes out, we all know what to expect, and everybody smiles with even more contentment. Nobody wants Overkill (nor Sodom!) to stray away from what do best. There are variations and expansions, especially in the late 80s/early 90s releases, but nothing that would scream Cold Lake or Hammerheart. Rock until you drop, and thrash 'til zer forever! Four decades of thrash and then some!!! NB: several entries are Japanese versions with bonus tracks. Remove brackets and unzip: [feel the firerizer] !ZER Overkill ZER! |
