After he left Gargoyle, She-Ja started the awesome thrashing speed-metal Volcano that sounds like a more muscular Loudness. Volcano only make first class albums and it is all the more impressive since they just released Darker Than Black, their fourth album in three years, and it is probably their best. I can't be absolutely sure yet, I might still be under the excitement of novelty. Four five-star albums in three years, who can beat that? This is She-Ja (ex Gargoyle) and his Volcano mates masterfully redoing a bunch of classic hard rock mega hits, from Judas priest to Accept, from Scorpions to Thin Lizzy, from Rainbow to MSG, and from several others to other others. No Saxon, though :-( I wanted some Saxon instead of Yngwie! But besides the no-Saxon flaw, this is an incredible album, the musical level is outstanding, you could almost hear Dio and Graham Bonnet. The MSG cover gives me goosebumps. Full nostalgia machine! If you like hard rock, this is a must. Fist in the air!
