Many months of fun on the throne now. Makes me feel like zerring some Possessed. Over 30 years of worship of the swing of the axe into the seven churches! I attended the Slayer / Possessed show in SF in August 1985. Was anyone at this show? Amazing noisefest! On vinyl, I was first completely mesmerized by their appearance on Metal Massacre VI, then Seven Churches blew me away to a geostationary orbit, I never really came back. Death metal! None more evil! The unstoppable corrosion had begun. Bang your head to the death til thrash til triplazer! Remove brackets and unzip: [churches of zer] !ZER Possessed ZER! Force Fed

01.
Force Fed - Claustrophobia,
1989 Vinyl LP Album In Your Face Records - FACE 08 02. Force Fed - Full Up And Loaded, 1989 Vinyl 7" 45 RPM Single Limited Edition Records - RARE 003 03. Force Fed - Elounda Sleeps, 1991 Vinyl LP Album Sycophant Records - SYC 04 04. Force Fed - Fast Forward, 1991 Vinyl 7" 45 RPM Sister Records - SISTER-03 AAR. Fresh rips of these marvelous records (remaining to re-rip: S.O.B. and Raped Teenagers). Force Fed's marketing point was the involvement of Heresy's bass player on Claustrophobia, that would sure attract a lot of attention. But the music stands by itself extremely strongly and zerly. Claustrophobia is a pure pearl of super powered dark hardcore that illuminates (with black photons) Eternal Zer City's Top Ten Central Palace. The twisted mix of Amebix, Bl'ast! and Bad Brains explains the ultimate altitude of this (way too short) record. The next releases were more straight forward high quality hardcore thrash that may remind us dinosaurs of Life Sentence or RKL. Ditto for the EPs. First rate, world class, highest golden zerness of 80s hardcore forever and beyond! Remove brackets and unzip: [zer fed] !ZER Force Fed ZER! PS: I regularly receive moot requests like "post more punk, less metal" or vice versa. These requests will be entirely ignored. Be specific and post in the requests forum. I cannot manage requests for trends as it depends on my mood. Anyway, I think it's pretty much well balanced between punk and metal. If you don't think so, go watch Mad Max and come back in tears. |

They may have more releases than Iron Maiden. So, today I finished the New Testament - 10 months of reading - on the toilet only, that's why it took so long. I read the Old Testament when Hell Awaits came out. Perfect audio background for such a nasty and amazing story. Now, the NT is not nearly as good, except of course for the very last part called the Apocalypse, I totally must get some of what that guy smoked while writing this triple dragon / seven angels / four horsemen / sword out of the mouth story. We would not have half of Slayer's and Venom's discography without that chapter. For some reason, it made me think that I should post the few Unholy Grave discs I have. Yeah, fast grrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiinding Japanese thrash, that's exactly what we need!! Bang that head!! Remove brackets and unzip: [grind til zer] !ZER Unholy Grave ZER! Scatterbrain - Here Comes Trouble
01.
Scatterbrain - Here Comes Trouble,
1990 Vinyl LP Album In-Effect - 467375 1 NRAR. Vinyl rip this time, because there is no such thing as nostalgia, especially from 1990 - what a year (and we're still married). I must admit that I was disappointed upon my first listen of this LP: I was expecting another monster of ultimate crossover like Ludichrist's Powertrip. But at the second play I realized that Here Comes Trouble is close to the very best of the very best of the cream of the best hard rock album ever released. Astonishing amount of highest zerness from all angles!! Remove brackets and unzip: [here comes zer] !ZER Scatterbrain ZER! |

Violent Arrest - Life Inside The Western Bloc, 2015 Vinyl LP Album Limited Edition Boss Tuneage, Farewell Records - BTRC12-092, FWR#51 05. Violent Arrest - Life Inside The Western Bloc, 2015 CD Album Boss Tuneage - BTRC092 includes Distorted View Basic hardcore punk anyone? 5 years later, it was time to have a Violent Arrest update. This is great stuff, rough and virulent as we might expect from former Ripcord members, even if none of these releases match the level of zerritude of Poetic Justice. No musical breakthrough or groundbreaking extremities here, just plain classic British sounding old style thrash that might fill that urgent craving. I cannot leave without regretting the usually generic lyrics. The hardcore scene should definitely go and use satanic zombie lyrics or anything else but these half-assed so-called socially concerned interchangeable hypocritical slogans. Parrot'n'roll! But as long as it makes a lot of noise, I won't complain too much. Remove brackets and unzip: [zerocracy] !ZER Violent Arrest ZER! PS: After Death reloaded, try again. |

Nocturnus + After Death

Nocturnus - The Key,
1990 CD Album Earache - MOSH 23CD 02. Nocturnus - Thresholds, 1992 CD Album Earache - MOSH55CD 03. Nocturnus - Ethereal Tomb, 2000 CD Album Season Of Mist - SOM 024 04. Nocturnus - The Nocturnus Demos, 2004 CD Compilation Candlelight Records USA - CANUS0072CD The Science Of Horror 1988 + 1st demo 1987 05. After Death - Retronomicon, 2007 CD Compilation Iron Pegasus Records - I.P.052 As promised, here are the most famous creatures of Mike Browing, formerly of Morbid Angel. After Death gathers early members of Nocturnus and deliver a different kind of death, but not that different. So a combined post is relevant, yes. Both bands are completely awesome and unique in the death metal department - death metal from outer space with crazy riffs and large amounts of mind-twisting structural meat, plus invasive keyboards with teeth beyond cheese. The 3rd album is slower, with an almost Paradise Lost feeling, still very great despite the eviction of Mr Browning - more straight forward heaviness, less cannibal alien attacks. After Death resurrects the greatness of the creative power of Nocturnus and satisfies our craving for ancient death mastery. Classic death til zer til forever rezer! Go check the Unaussprechlichen Kulten post for the UK/AD split. Remove brackets and unzip: [after zer] !ZER After Death, Nocturnus ZER! Aaah, I must go attend a hip-hop show now. Pray for me. |

Warhead - Never Give Up,
2011 CD Compilation, DVD Blood Sucker Records - BSR-107 02. Warhead - Warhead, 2014 CD Album Blood Sucker Records - BSR-115 At last! 21 years later, Warhead finally release another album. Of course, there were all the EPs, but was it enough to satisfy our craving for deadly Japanese thrash intensity? Of course not. So, yes, this new album is a monstrous killing machine in the best Japcore tradition. It is already a classic. It may even be rawer and faster than their previous material, like a really pissed off Raw Power | Gauze radioactive mutant. "May" because I just got it and have not listened to it enough to issue a definitive case study, but it is so good I wanted to post it ASAP. Fucking buy it now! And then there is also this amazing Never Give Up compilation with all the EPs (except This World Of Confusion, but since I am such a nice person, you get a free reload here, say merci). Break your neck on punk's boiling point! Remove brackets and unzip: [zerhead] !ZER Warhead ZER! Am I the only one too think of the new Mad Max as an awfully boring piece of rotten horse manure?
