Eisenvater - IV

Eisenvater - IV, 2009
Yes. We've waited for 14 years AND HERE IT IS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only release I had expected with as much stress and eagerness was probably the Bad Brains reunion LP "build a nation", which turned out immensely disappointing. Now the returned Eisenvater with a new rhythm section is nothing short of a miracle. Yes, I had decided to loooove "IV" before hearing it because I am a disciple, but I also had decided to loooove "Build a nation" in advance yet its flacid mediocrity just ruined the cult. Zer! So really this new piece of Eisenvater is p-u-r-e golden Eisenvater who never fail to evolve from album to album. Their strange tongue-in-cheek metallic onslaught is augmented by subtleties of almost indie rock sort - like Pelican for man, the overall thing reeking of the classic Eisenvater haunting acid and hammer of destruction. In the same league yet much more intense and soul-catching than the latest Melvins "nude with boots"!!! INSTANT CLASSIC IN ALL DIRECTIONS OF ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! !!R!R RR!!RRR!RR!RRRR RR R R RR !!!RRR!R!!!RRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!R !R!!! !!!!!!!!!
When I grow up, I want to marry Eisenvater.
See you in 2023 for V !!!

For a heavy weekend, the Church of Zer recommends the Totenmond discography. This is über freaking awesome thrashdoom of ultimate proportions!!!! Why, but why aren't they distributed on North American soil ??? The language barrier is a lame excuse. I'd rather not understand Totenmond than understand James Hetfield.
Totenmond deliver the sickly heavy mix that you might obtain if you cooked together a dozen anvils with the Carnivore discography spiced up with the harshest punk input and with... with... EISENVATER!!!! Speaking of which, watch out for the next Zer post...

Brutal Truth - live Quebec 02/05/09

Brutal Truth - live Quebec, 02/05/09
This is the live recording from the BT show in Quebec City earlier this month. It is the stereo output from the board, not a multitrack thing I could mix, but the sound quality is still OK (especially the 2nd part). Anyway the performance blows away your wettest dreams. I could have done a mix of the other 2 shows in Mtl and Ottawa if the sound guys hadn't been such impotent assholes who shut down half my inputs. Sound guys dezerve swine flu.

jonestown aloha + white male dumbinance + comp tracks, 1983/1984
nothing can go wrogn!, 1986
Zer! Zer! Zer! Lazer megazer! This is not just another classic band, this is one of the VERY FUCKING BEST things that have ever happened to hardcore worldwide and music in general. I bought the P.E.A.C.E. double comp LP in 84 or 85 and of course, I was floored by many, many bands here - this is the comp that made me discover GISM, Septic Death, ODFX, Wretched, CCM, Articles of Faith etc. so the bar is really, really high. But one track was standing out even higher than anything else on the comp, the ravaging "arms race" from BGK (version included in 1st rar). At the time I had already been a lot into satan via Venom, Slayer, Bathory, Hellhammer etc. but then BGK finally emerged in my discography as the true revelation of TOTALLY MALE MUSIC !!! AT LAST SOMETHING TRULY FAST AND HEAVY !!! From this day on I could only track down anything BGK would release. I am all excited by this nostalgia. What a hot era !!!
BGK play brutal, viciously thrashing hardcore - heavy as fuck like Discharge (check the hammering "white male dumbinance" ep) but faster than MDC and with top class musicians even to today's standards. This is mercilessly tight and masterfully toying with the dynamics of their insane intensity, darkness and speed. Technically they matched any of the bullet-belts/flying V knights of metal and had better arrangements and solos! Brilliant musicians playing the best hardcore catalog!!! BGK match Ludichrist, MDC, Raw Power, Rattus... ZER!!!! The 2nd album "nothing can go wrogn!" is the ultimate monster of ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! ! ! ! ! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! ! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!! BGK !!!!!!!!!!!!! ! ! ! !!!!!!!!
CD rip from the AT reissue. This CD does not contain the last song from "nothing" so I ripped it from my LP. I think the song from the "viva umkhonto" compilation is missing to make this a complete discography. I have this LP 5000 miles away, please wait.
UPDATE: Stogref DID rip Viva Umkhonto which contains the last BGK track!!! And now the BGK discography is available in its glorious and sleazy entirety - better than sex! ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! Merci Steph !!!

Roger's Porn Collection - under my skin, 2007 (NB: 128 kbps)
AH!!! Can you think of a better band name? I know nothing about Roger's Porn Collection (yet) and I would have posted it even if their music had sucked. Actually Roger's Porn Collection's generic hardcore punk is a superb demonstration of pulsating rocking anthems dedicated to the spiritual matters truly central to the modern man. A hairy & solid concocktion of Fear | Poison Idea | NoFx for man, this is what you dezerve!

When legends collide, they talk about dykes orgies and other essential features of life (like orgies). Getting Warm on the Trail of Heat, 1998
The Force That Holds Together a Heart Torn To Pieces, 2000
Searching the Stone Library for the Green Page of Illusion, 2002
Review : "Another dude-grooving blow-out of herb-fueled twisted metal from these on-the-twist Santa Cruz-based freakazoids featuring former members of BL'AST and THE CHAMPS. A rock-soaked onslaught of multi-layered dual-guitar riffage, fucked-up time signatures, death-esque vocal howling, and furious, free-jazz-inspired rhythms."
What else can I say ? Except words that start with 'z' and end with 'r' ? Spaceboy is like tossing Voïvod, Bl'ast!, Rollins Band, Victims Family and Meshuggah in the blender with two pounds of the best weed and fucking ZERRRRRRR!!!!! Here you get a very heavy orgy of destruction that can grease the wheel of both the Morbid Angel and the Hawkwind followers. Fear of God

Fear of God - 1st 7" + pneumatic slaughter 7" + as statues fell LP, 1987/1988
Ooooooh happy birthday MAXIME ! 31 ans ! Quelle jeunesse fougueuse ! C'est sérieux cette année ! Cabine ! Mutz ! Zer.

And then Fear of God detonated in the middle of the rising 80s grindcore scene. Not to be mistaken for the (not so bad) ex-Détente US metal band, this truly frightening Fear of God is a fine purveyor of extremely grinding thrash and death noise from the deepest pits of infected blood and possessed rotten bowels. With a revolving line-up of members (including some of Messiah), this Swiss commando played shows (I still have the VHS!) with the likes of Extreme Noise Terror, Napalm Death and all the classic battalion of grinders. Nuclear Death

bride of insect + carrion for worm + all creatures great and eaten, 1990/1992
the planet cachexial, 1999
Sit down and have a fat thick joint for Nuclear Death. If you have not heard ND, be prepared for some seriously aggravated in advanced hammering terrorizing madness (fuck, will I ever be able to write reviews like Pushead's in MRR ?). In the late 80s / early 90s, that was probably the most intense offering in sonic metal bestiality, dirtier than Terrorizer and more sick and evil than early Bathory. Maybe something like Fear of God with more metal riffs, longer songs and full length nausea. And cancer. Back then I was wondering why Suffocation and flat innocuous bands like that were getting all the attention when you could bang your head and fracture your skull to Nuclear Death's real speed and aggression. While Suffocation & co. sounded like suburban team sport, ND sound like the final detonation of world war III. This super fast thrashing and grinding death can be found on the first 3 records (1st archive).
Then on "The Planet Cachexial" (2nd archive, zer) Nuclear Death completely leaves the ultra death radioactive thing to explore drone and experimental drugged soundscapes like those of early Boris, Sunn o)) or late Fleurety. And there they also provide superior 1st quality material of crazy ambient noise and hypnosis.
No I don't have "...For Our Dead..." nor "Harmony Drinks of Me", but I'm working on it. As for the 4 or 5 demos from 1986 to 1989, if you know of dl links, thanks for posting in the comments section.
And if anyone knows where to get the CD re-releases by Extremist Records, drop a line ! Thanks ! ZER !

Zer! Brutal Truth is the master thing and the end of all things. We played 3 shows opening for them. We now need lung transplants and liver replacements. BT do not do shows, they give performances. Last time I had such feelings was the first time I attended a Bad Brains or Victims Family or RKL show decades ago (or Khanate, yeah, that was formidable too !). BT is the head of the 21st century high class | major cult league. Nobody can compete. They're the fastest-tightest-most crazy live thing ever - and on record too, their new album evolution through revolution is an instant classic of global domination (click the link to hear it in its entirety). Nobody in the grindcore or "extreme" metal scene can even reach BT's toes - technically and composition-wise, BT are on another plane of existence and don't give me any of that Necrophagist joke. BT are the Isaac Newton of rock music. With a bit of Leibniz and Max Planck. BT is art and science of infinite zerness. AWESOME TRIP!!! ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A big middle finger to the lazy and careless sound guy in Montreal who ruined the show's sound, a very long and large anal probe with rusted spikes and a live cat to the hostile | attitude sound guy in Ottawa who ruined my recording, lick a donkey you toothless bitch. Thanks a lot to the excellent sound guy in Quebec City and thanks a lot to the promoters. Megatons of zer!
