Brickbat: Just the Warm Up

Moment Maniacs - two fucking pieces, Sweden 1998
Monster metallic crust core from the experts in Wolfbrigade. It was frightening to read also the participation of Marduk members, but fear not, this disc does not sound like feeble black metal at all. This is a completely generic emulation of the SWEDBEAT ATTACK OF ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
Skarnio - pobre natureza, Brasil 1987
More totally raw thrashing crossover!!! To me this sounds like the best of the metallic catalog of Rattus ("will eveil win?"), I can even hear some Terveet Kädet. The Finnish sound made in Brasil for more CLASSIC 3-RIFFS KILLER THRASHCORE ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tyrranicide - god save the scene, USA 1989
Tyrranicide is a fine purveyor of a bit of everything the true zerist loves: crossover and thrash as in Slayer, Bloodcum, late D.R.I., early Excel, you name it... Formidable velocity and punch not without melodic hooks for a great dose of HEADBANGING CROSSOZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

give'em enough dope, 1996
In 1984 I bought the legendary Maximum Rock'N'Roll compilation, which opened me the door on a world of unbelievable bands for which the term "classic" was especially coined - Raw Power, Rattus, Terveet Kâdet... and N.O.T.A., whose "propaganda control" is such a hardcore prototype I had it on all mix tapes to school... Aaaaaaaah, nostalgia. Totally briliant, FAST, LOUD, UNAVOIDABLE HARDCORE PUNK ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is unrelated, but very funny, I just came accross a "Christian hardcore" website. If you're bored and need a laugh, go read it. Fuck yeah, there is a forum too, "Where you can have candid discussions about God, music, and upcoming shows". Ah, the album reviews... sample: "I can tell you that my email conversations with the band have been really positive and that they are all in for Jesus. It shows in their music too.".
Oh shit, forum intro: "Do I have to be a Christian?
No, if you are here and you are not a Christian, then there is a reason that Jesus brought you here.
Do I have to like Christian Hardcore, Punk, Ska and Oi?
No, you can learn how Christ is using these genres of music to reach new believers
I reserve the right to pull or edit any listing, revoke any posting privileges, or remove you from membership status. Let's have some good clean fun."
Zeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............. Yeah it is not nice to poke fun at slow people, but this one looks even better than a metal forum. I think I'm going to sign-up.
Another case of WTF-why-did-they-not-become-giants. The class in both albums destroys many many well established acts - Gigandhi do world class slow and dark metal from far away in space like Prong and Tool intermixed with Gobblehoof and a touch of Neurosis (but wayyyyy zerrer than Isis). Absolutely necessary download if into such musical prowess of PROGRESSIVE HEAVY MENTAL METALLIZED ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Benediction - killing music, 2008
I was never a great Benediction fan, but this album has a Broken Bones and an Amebix cover, and it was a cheap vinyl copy, and the artwork is nice, so I bought it. Despite the Cubase drums, it is actually pretty good simple death metal with a nice crust of dbeat, overall EXCELLENT THRASHING DEATH ZERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
