Doom - Still Can't The Dead, 2016 CD Album 13th Real Recordings - 13RR1003 There is usually some restraint from posting brand new releases, but this week the excitement is too large. The new Doom offerings have not left the CD player and the Church is burning. 30 years after their first release and 17 years after their last, Doom return in majestic form with a new album that is bound to become a classic. They do not pursue the mechanistic sonic experiments of Where You Life Lies but return to their evil blend of metallic contortions with epic thrash attacks, vicious riffage and these incredible bass lines: Still Can't the Dead sums up pretty much everything they did up to Illegal Soul, brought to a new level of zeristicism. Completely awesome marvel of the zeriverse! NRAR! The No More Pain double reissue is also a cosmically magnificent restitution of the monstrous debut. I am usually skeptical about remastered reissues but this one is breathing a new kind of living death into the album and offers a new worthwhile experience of No More Pain. I don't think I might even listen to the original again... Theses two new versions sound different from each other (the CD being more comfortable and pleasing, as usual) and more powerful than the original. Their monumental take on the Venom | GISM sound is heightened to new dimensions. Amazing job of megatriplazer! BUY STILL CAN'T THE DEAD! BUY NO MORE PAIN! BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
