  1. Long time listener first time caller. Thanks for all the great bands you have turned me on to. I've seen you are starting to put books on the right side of the site, one you might like,if you've not heard of, is WE by Eugene Zamiatin.

  2. On your discogs account there is this ( http://www.discogs.com/sell/item/226271021 ) album, which is the remastered edition, but according to the tags and the discogs link the version you uploaded several months ago is the original edition ( http://www.discogs.com/Lost-Breed-The-Evil-In-You-And-Me/release/3892319 ). When you listen to it or look at the wave form it seems to have a rather low dynamic range, indicating that it is probably really the remaster and the tracks on the bandcamp page ( https://shadowkingdomrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-evil-in-you-and-me ) which says 'released 15 October 2013' sound exactly the same. Does this mean that all the discogs links to the specific release and the tags in the files of this blog are complete garbage and I'll have to delete them because false information is worse than no information or was it just one single mistake and i can trust the other links and tags?

    1. Yes, it was an intentional URL mistake to fool you, and the rip was made from mp3s inflated to FLAC, as everything else on this blog. Please, erase all your downloads and fuck off.

      I meant the tags.
I only wanted to know wether you really care about those tags and enter the catalog number, label and source or comment tags based on what is printed on the physical release. It seems like the tags are added atleast semi-automatically, otherwise the version you uploaded wouldn't have the correct tags of another version of the album. Therefore i wondered wether this is just a single mistake or not and if you e.g. even bother differentiating releases that probably have the same mastering. If you don't then I'd rather delete the tags because I prefer no information to misleading information.

    3. I do care about the tags since I am my own audience. The tagging process is automatic, but if I use the wrong Discogs page, everything follows (label, cat nr, release date, song titles etc).
I try to be as accurate as possible and enter releases into Discogs to match my CDs/records/tapes when they are missing (e.g. http://www.discogs.com/Girlschool-Glasgow-1982/release/7127436 added yesterday).
This particular Lost Breed CD was obviously wrongly tagged (I have 2 copies of the 2013 remaster, not the original). You can retag the rip automatically by loading it into the Tagger Of Zer and dropping the right Discogs URL (see ToZ link on the right), or any other tagging software.

    4. Christ Anonymous, The Church is trying to introduce you to music and information you may otherwise not be aware of. Figure it out for yourself! Many many days ago you'd get a cassette in the mail and have to figure out what was on it. Often from an illegible scribbling on the back of a beer stained flyer. Sit back and enjoy the music

Thanks for everything you do. With every post I'm a bit less ignorant of genres, bands and history that escaped my senses for decades. Your knowledge and commitment to best practices casts a wide net in places I'll never see. If I were to develop a personal burden of obsession and compulsion, and mistake a time direction for a space direction, the outcome would be recorded on the event horizon through the holographic principle anyway, so I'll not return to pursuits of "no information". It's curious how "civilized" people cling to less or no information, lest beyond here be monsters. It's a pirate life for me, let there be monsters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle
