Terrorizer - demo

Terrorizer - demo, USA 1988
The kings' demo from the Headache vinyl bootleg. This is at the same time awesome and useless since every song appears tighter, faster and with better production on "world downfall". Yes, but this is TERRORIZER!!! ZER!!!
Vinyl rip without all the Nausea tracks, I never really cared for Nausea but I was wrong and now I just sold the LP. Zer.

Neurosis - short wave warfare

Neurosis - short wave warfare, USA 1990
Very good live recording from the first two albums tour, when they were more hardcore sounding. Very zer. I didn't know it had been officially released. This is the vinyl rip without the 3 added tracks from the official CD.

Killer - shock waves

Killer - shock waves, Belgium 1984
Not to be mistaken for the Swiss Killer, nor the French Killers... Zer. French speaking heavy metal dudes love the word "killer".
Anyway this record is a blast of early Motörhead and Saxon with memorable, excellent traditional 80s energetic hard rock songs, great musicians, good production, double bass drums, denim and leather and lyrics about king kong and earthquakes. No excuse not to like it! Zer!!!
Vinyl rip.
Error : album title set as "schock wave" instead of "shock waves". Sorry.

Urge - why hide the lie

Urge - why hide the lie, Germany 1991
I forgot to post this after the Power of Expression post : PoE is Urge with the Morgoth vocalist. This Urge album (including the live 12") is a mountain of dark and bone-crushing hardcore totally between early Rollins Band and Bl'ast! with their distinctive sound and a hard-on-inducing-Discharge-cover, so fuck yeah ZERRRR!!!
Both Lp and CD are easily available on distros and ebay, get a copy.

Virulence - if this isn't a dream

Virulence - if this isn't a dream, USA 1989
Very good slow and heavy hardcore - aka a total Bl'ast! & early Melvins rip-off, which makes the record extremely enjoyable. Very zer, although I like Bl'ast! more, chronologically speaking. BTW this is Fu Manchu, they changed the band name after releasing this LP, which hopefully does not sound stoner rock at all.
Vinyl rip.

Prong

primitive origins, USA 1987
force fed, USA 1988
peel session, USA 1989
Their newer material is more radio-friendly, yet heavy and dark and very groovy ("power of the damager" is a fucking cool album with a Ministry touch). The 3 records listed here are their super excellent early thrash releases. "Force Fed" marks their shift towards more groove and complexity. NY metalcore ZER!
Peel sessions & force fed: vinyl rip.

Neon Christ - parental suppression

Neon Christ - parental suppression, USA 1984
Another classic 80s US HC 7"! Early DRI (non-metal, dirty rotten lp era) and Bad Brains (ROIR tape style) immediately come to mind as influences. Fast and raw yet catchy, complete ZER!

Kinghorse

Kinghorse, USA 1991
Not far from Naked Truth, Leeway or the later Cro-Mags releases, Kinghorse deliver an above excellent and catchy crossover of metal and hardcore. Nothing too fast, lots of groove, great songs and all - despite the lack of enthusiasm of this lame description, this is one fantastic record, not the most original but extremely ZER!!
CD rip.

Epidemic

the truth of what will be, USA 1989
decameron, USA 1992
lament 7", USA 1994
exit paradise, USA 1994
More monster Bay Area thrash!! I was literally blown away when "the truth of what will be" came out, an insanely virulent thrash beast on the trails of early Exodus and the Accüsed. The following albums are also great thrash containers with an increase in complexity and arrangements, again not unlike Exodus. The 7" features an Ozzy and a DBC cover + 2 other songs (an unreleased and one from Exit Paradise if I'm not mistaken). Exploding ZER!!!
