Contropotere

01. Contropotere - Nessuna Speranza Nessuna Paura, 1988 Vinyl LP Reissue      Reissue of 1990      Not On Label - none 02. Contropotere - Il Seme Della Devianza, 1991 Vinyl LP Album      Skuld Releases - SKULD 002 Extra-dimensional super-bloating of the inverted immersion! Welcome to the magnificent vanguard of experimental crossover. Crossover is here intended to magnify the back and forth stylistic border crossing and apt melting of Italian hardcore, metal riffs, doom, rock, and many other things with no names, propelled by a maniac lady abusing the microphone. In an anachronistic panorama, these two records could be grossly framed as the growing of Raw Power and Upset Noise into the tumor of OvO. I am not dropping names lightly, I can also mention C.C.M., the greatest thing on earth, converted to the church of Melvins under the wise supervision of Amebix with more adventures within a single song than in a complete Celtic Frost album, without the rectangular cheese. Controlled chaos and sonic experiments in large architectures of sculpted soundgasm build another step towards total zerification of the mind of the meat and the meat of the mind. These two records are the lost diamonds you have been looking for all this time. Awesomely underrated and criminally ignored! Is this better than a threesome? Play it fucking loud til zer!!! Skepticism - Alloy, 2008 CD Album      Red Stream - RSR-0199 Death, depression and doom! And more doom. Complete death and doom from the nadir of emptiness into the darkness of nothing! And more doom. Skepticism vomits large buckets of tar over the Eternal Zer Funeral Top 3. With more heavy desperation and slow pain than their predecessors Anathema, Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride - the evident trio of initiators of early doom death - Skepticism darkened for our greatest rejoicing the past two decades, sucking all light through their invincible black hole (unlike the one in Interstellar since this one emits light in pretty colors) and we thank them loudly, forever, and the day after. Thank you Skepticism, and may you release more doom and death for the next twenty hundred years. May the doomgasm begin. ETERNAL DOOM TIL THE MEGAZER! I have been a big Crisis fan for two decades. So of course, I ordered the album of Karyn Crisis' new band Gospel Of The Witches, which sounds extremely promising, like an awaken version of Neurosis with good vocals:

But while digging a bit of info about this project, I landed on Karyn Crisis web page, and was struck by the horrifying page where she sells old new-age cretinism. Supernatural attack! Skepticism alarm! She really is a witch (the kind that exorcises your neuron out of your skull). This sounds so banally ridiculous that I must read it: if anyone has a link to a pdf or whatever free source (preferably pirated illegally), thanks for posting it in the comments. I guess it is going to be a good healthy laugh, but I can't pay for this adulescent bullshit. This is going to be the Interstellar of reading. Bravo Karyn! Don't forget, love transcends time and space! Shit and reshit. It is time for more Skepticism.

Powertrip

01. Powertrip - When Cut We Bleed, 1983 Vinyl LP Album      Public Records - PR 100001 02. Powertrip - When We Cut, We Bleed, 2000 CD Album Reissue Compilation      Amsterdamned Records - 70029-2 Aging gracefully: the swift, catchy punk rock of Powertrip that feels like a superb congruence of Crucifix, Bad Brains and Scream. Jeff Dahl sings, the band rocks. I thought I was buying a speed metal album, it was in the novelty rack with Satan, Metallica and Battleaxe. But it was amazing punk rock instead and I was all the happier, even though my speed metal friends virulently protested when I played it on our local radio show (Overkill  - radio Méga ! Terreur sur les ondes - radio Air ! zer) Shut up, this album should be considered a classic. Spread the word about the magnificent Powertrip! Iron horse! Van Halen - A Different Kind Of Truth, 2012 CD Album      Interscope Records - B001647702 Complete zerness of the super cheese! Yes, but no. This is neither a sarcastic post, nor a mere dive into nostalgia lake. All my hard-rock life, I have been a permanent and avid listener of the David Lee Gorgoroth era of Van Halen, except 1984 (what??? Keyboards in VH?? ACH!). This stuff rocks like nothing else. Edward has been the emperor of killer riffs and axemanship wizardry for almost 4 decades, and Torso Dave is one of my favorite singers (a post of his solo albums is coming up too! Yes!). All the Van Halen songs with this line-up are simply amazing. I must admit that I had put my Thin Lizzy and Deep Purple aside (not for too long...) when I discovered Van Halen I (in 1979!!!). Slack jaw! Perfection in hard rock! Amazement and hours of air guitar! All these early VH records melt my neuron. I carved the VH logo on my high-school tables many times. The 2012 album is another killer piece of hard rock too, hit after hit and heavy rocking stuff all disc long. I wasn't expecting much when I found this $1 copy, but it rocks 27 times like Metallica. Actually, I am now wondering if I should re-explore the Sammy Hagar discs which I didn't like then, haven't tried them in 20 years. Meanwhile, let's rock til infinity with Van Halen and the comets! Scrotum Death

01. Scrotum Death - Demos: Revolution Of Death & The Beginning Of The End, 2013 CD Compilation      Old Legions Records - none      1-6: Revolution Of Death (1989), 7-11: The Beginning Of The End (1992) Back from the heat, into the ice, the snow and the slush. Lost almost 60 degrees in the process, I am in full Celsius-lag. I returned home with a small ton of Chilean death fucking metal (and one nasty Colombian piece). You will suffer. Let's celebrate with the demos reissue CD of Scrotum Death, probably the first death metal band from Chile. The first demo is as raw and primitive as you'd expect from a Hellhammer | Death cult, that is digesting the slow parts of Morbid Angel's Abominations Of Desolation on the second demo. Ugly, nasty, rotten swamp thing of black plague infested zer! Remove brackets and unzip: [death sour] !ZER Scrotum Death ZER!

Stark Raving Mad - Social Sickness, 1985/1986 Vinyl 10"      Nuclear Blast - NB 017      Reissue from 1989 - 1-5: studio 1985 (not from Amerika), 6-15: live CBGB 1986 Some of my favorite 80s hardcore resides on these two jaw dropping records. Take early DRI | Neos | MDC blasting chemicals and add some semi-Biafra vocals without the goat genes and mosh your living room for the 32 minutes of these 47 songs. Classic beyond classic! It is advised to avoid the 2007 CD reissue: the sound quality is OK but the 20 seconds gaps between tracks make it unusable. Oh, I must check my Alzheimer, I am just realizing that I already posted this in 2013. Don't think I am taking reloads requests, but errare humanum est and I am not anal enough about the rules to cancel this post now that it's ready. It must be the heat of summer, or the pisco sour. Holy Terror - Mind Wars, 1988 Vinyl LP Album      Under One Flag - FLAG 25 NRAR: this time you get the vinyl rips. A true speed metal collection and the EZTT are not complete without both masterpieces - especially the unmovable, unalterable, unbeatable, fireproof, waterproof, earthquake-proof, cosmic annihilation-proof maximizeristic supra hypra giga classic Mind Wars. It has everything you love about Agent Steel, Abattoir, Satan, Slayer and Assassin, but more of everything and better and faster and generally more viciously infectious. These melodies, this speed, these hooks, this intensity, this class, this perfection. I am crying. If Carnivore were a giant chainsaw on a bulldozer, Holy Terror were a battalion of evil surgeons. Is Mind Wars the best metal albums ever? WHY IS IT NOT MULTI PLATINUM? Shoot Metallica in the knees. Remove brackets and unzip: [holier zerror] !ZER Holy Terror ZER!
