Kraut

an adjustment to society, 1982 (20 tracks CD reissue)
whetting the scythe, 1984 (22 tracks CD reisssue)
First class punk rock by experts (the Sex Pistols and Battalion of Saints guitarists play on some of the live tracks and Kraut co-founder Doug Holland later joined the Cro-Mags). Good melodies, great speedy songs ("flossing with an E String"! ZER !!!) and real guitar solos in a solid dose of INFLAMMABLE PUNK ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, I do not own "Night of rage" because the reviews really deterred me when it came out, and now it's too late. And I'm lazy.

  5. I love Kraut! Thanks for this and for the Plasmatics and Warfare stuff. Feel free to grab and share a copy of my bands album Mighty High...In Drug City. We sound kind of like Black Flag Railroad.

  7. Actually Chris Smith from Battalion Of Saints was Doug Holland's replacement after he left to join Cro-Mags. Tragically Chris drowned in his bathtub in a freak slip 'n' fall incident. Can't remember if I ever heard whether he was drunk or not. After he died the band decided to not continue any further.

Strangely I read an interview from around 1982 I think. Tesco Vee's old Touch & Go zine I think, where the guys from Battalion Of Saints made jokes about either killing off previous members from the previous line or they had all died. Ominously now its true the only surviving original member to my knowledge is George Michael Anthony.
