Nasty Savage - Cleveland '87, 2003 CD Album Marquee Records - MR005 09. Nasty Savage - Psycho Psycho, 2004 CD Album Crook'D Records - CR2004 Very heavy metal is great, long live very heavy metal! Nasty Savage blipped on my radar on the legendary Metal Massacre VI (the best one). From then on, it's been a constant bliss of petals and cream, from the early slower heavy thrash to the complex bomb of Penetration Point (my favorite), the absolute masterpiece. Nasty Savage developed a unique sound that combined NWOBHM roots with the heaviosity of Celtic Frost, the thrashness of Hallow's Eve and the velocity and catchiness of Zoetrope. Sort of. All of it through their first class execution and song writing. One of these classic black stars that were not just yet another clone of Slayer or Metallica. The return album Psycho Psycho was brilliant and since they seem to be active again, we are due for a follow up, it's been 12 years already. Thrash til zer!
