Oh I will admit it quickly: the first time I heard Condemned, I vomited the meal I hadn't eaten yet. I was expecting loud and fast straight forward demolition grindcore or death metal (early 90's Earache! the Terrorizer | Entombed infection was at a record high), and I got loud and slow, clean-vocals, complex doom metal. But once it was acknowledged and digested that there was not going to be a single blast beat with cookie monster vocals on the album, its magnificent power could overwhelm. The other releases are as addictive for every second of every song is filled with greatness in the doom, the strange, the twisted and the sickness in symphony. Comparisons are futile when dealing with something that special, but if Solitude Aeturnus were killed in a mustard gas attack and then zombie-reanimated by concoctions of the flesh of Mind Over Four and the bones of Watchtower, we would almost be in Confessor territory. And it's even greater than that! Masterpiece engine! Fantastic wall to wall maximumizer! We need more than an album or two per decade, be reasonable! Megatriplazer cult of damned and slowly grilled in various positions! Let the Confessor fly high in its invincible machine again!
