When you see the phrase "Swedish death metal", a panorama of Dismemtombed is immediately erecting in your neuron. This is why we must say that Seance were making death metal in Sweden and not Swedish death metal, for they did not sound like the typical Swede death buzzsaw orgy. In its stead, they developed a monster with more of a US DM sound, almost Floridian, and this is cultural appropriation we should not tolerate! Except that these three albums being so viscerally great, we shall make an exception today. Each Seance album is a classic with the right amount of twisted riffs, the just dose of complexity, and the perfect balance between brutality and viciousness with almost perceptible thrash metal foundations.
