Heavy deluge of metal sludge! Crowbar have been the biggest gun of the NOLA crushing artillery for thirty years, and still going strong - saw them live a couple of years ago, best performance of the festival with Carcass and Venom Inc. They deliver the full proportion of the southern metal sound that made Acid Bath, Eyehategod and Down popular, with an added ton of lead. A couple of the mid-career albums are maybe less convincing for their propensity to wider accessibility, but the heaviness has been back for a long time now, and the last two or three releases are magnificent elephants of doom. From day one the melodic angle has never been dismissed and it elevates Crowbar beyond the plain manufacture of neanderthal abrasion and dirge. There is something to remember and get hooked on here - without forgetting the galloping motörpunk influence that surfaces here and there. In one word: ZER! Crowbar reigns over the anvils and the hammers! Complete sludge accumulation til triplazer!
