NRAR - for the first time here in FLAC, the almighty Convulse! The Finnish master of death and hard rocking metal never cease to amaze. After their classic 90s releases and a 20 years long hiatus, they have graced us with three magnificent new albums. Evil Prevails is a return to their classic death metal mastery - nothing utterly complex or immensely original, but without any attempt to jump on any current trend and soaked with passion and energy - marvelously headbangable conflagration of the dead! Then Cycle Of Revenge shifts again, like its illustrious predecessor Reflections, to their mix of 70s hard rock of the most excellent manufacture with the vibe of death. I know how terrifying the "death'n'roll" tag sounds for all the abominations that have operated under that flag in the 90s, but Convulse know what they do and they now define the genre rather than obey its canons. That being said, despite its immense qualities Cycle is almost a dwarf compared to the newest super masterpiece Deathstar. Here we get an entry for my 2020 top 10. This album is just perfect, nobody has ever done the death 70s thing so well. This album is infectious from start to finish, an uninterrupted chain of classics with a very high replay factor. Convulse just set the bar to a stratospheric level for anyone else tempted by this genre mix. Rock until you drop! Triplazering Convulse mania forever in the zeriverse!
