Nomind - Tales Of Ordinary Madness, 1988 Masterpiece alert! This record has some of the very best punk rock I ever heard. This is the wet dream of the DI | TSOL | Adolescent fan, made in Canada. The greatness of the hard rocking punk this record delivers is multiplied by the awesome arrangements, the very excellent bass and guitar leads and the generally superior musicality of it all - highly memorable and totally catchy while sustaining very hot instrumental parts: let's dare using again the magic word "classic" to tag this thing that matches anything (and above...) by the aforementioned triplet of punk rock icons. its a great archive of 80s and early 90s cassette only releases some seriously amazing releases that other wise might have been lost if not for this project.... the majority of the releases also documents a lot of what was happening in the southern ontario world of indie labels around back then. So long lost releases by artists like SCW and NOMIND can be found here... thanks for ripping the album I have been looking for a copy for a long time now...
Great post, Zermeister! Thanks also to Neils for the link mentioned. I found the No Mind LP new in a small indie record store in Atlanta GA about 2 decades ago. Great LP and undervalued and underrated!
ReplyDeleteThanks Neils for the link! Awesome blog!

ReplyDeletegreat post!
Great stuff! For years, approximately 23 of them, I had the track "Nomind" on a cassette, taped off the radio, but I didn't catch the track name or who it was by. But now thanks to the internet, I figured it out, and mighty glad to know. The whole album is great, thanks for posting! Will try to find a copy on vinyl. -- Tschid.
ReplyDeleteNever too late! Cheers!
ReplyDeletePlease, please, please, I am begging for a re-up of this, please...
ReplyDeleteThanks - Atis
Greetings, folks. I was the singer of this band. We hailed from Toronto, ON, Canada. Tracks A1, A2, A3, and B5 & B6 were originally written and performed by guitarist Dave Walsh's former band - Afhakken. Since we (the drummer, bass player and myself) were all fans of this band and knew each band member well, we played, performed and recorded these songs. The other songs are NOMIND original songs. I wanted to get Tales released on a CD, but since I left Canada for a long time it all came to naught. I am really glad you folks like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Scott Tremaine
