I did not rip the vinyls of Wacky Hi-Jinks an Humongous not only because there are already two great digital rips of each, but because I played these records so much they are worn out. Humungous is the stuff of legend, it is fast and intense and amazing and it reeks of fun and fire, let's freak out. This is the shining Everest of punk rock, even if the excitement dimmed with the last album Ishtar (Phat is an excellent reunion live album). À l'instar d'un Marty McFly se faisant ventiler à travers la garçonnière du Doc, j'ai envie de dire "ça c'est du rock." Qui sait où on en serait aujourd'hui si de passage en 1955 il avait joué "Middle-Aged Whore" à la place de "Johnny B. Goode"?
Bonne question, on aurait eu du grindcore en 1963. Mais au prix de zapper Scorpions et Judas Priest, ce qui eut été bien dommage. Mmmhh, que de supputations circonflexes.
