For the very first time and upon request, let's zerify Token Entry and their A-grade 80s US HC. Jaybird is your typical Gorilla Biscuits | Insted posi-core sounding album and it still fucking rocks. When i was young, I preferred it a lot to the Weight of the World, but 40 lbs later, not anymore. Weight is more mature, more rocking, more solid, less basic hardcore: it's a third album. With a better singer, they could have conquered the world with this prototype of late 80s mildly hip-hop, funk, hard rocking beast. Killer Token Entry! No, I do not have the first album. Never even heard it! Unzer! But these two will suffice for your next party. Zer!

  1. Nice. The 1st album is pretty good. Jaybird is produced by Dr. Know from the Bad Brains.

  2. I always preferred "The weight of the world" over "Jaybird", don't know if it was because I found it first but at that time there were another two albums that I liked a lot; "The best of times" (Murphy's Law) and "Next" (Pagan Babies). They were brighter and more positive, not really ground-breaking - the Clash were doing this mixes eons ago.
These three are still on my android, and thanks for "Jaybird" I have it on vinil but too lazy to pass it to digital after my music drive died at work last July with 11 years of life in it.

  3. Token Entry ‎– From Beneath The Streets seems to be to this day still an under-appreciated hc/crossover classic album.
    WHY ?
