Gotsu-Totsu-Kotsu - 魍魎 (Mouryou),
2009 CD B.T.H. - BTH-024 02. Gotsu-Totsu-Kotsu - 影ノ伝説 (Legend Of Shadow), 2013 CD B.T.H. - BTH-052 Ultrarmaggedon triplamegazer!!! Highest defenestration of the soundgasm!!! Overheated saturation of the joy glands!!! Enter the epic soundscapes of samurai metal and bang your head non-stop against all impenetrable surfaces. Gotsu-Totsu-Kotsu deliver merciless thrash metal with death metal prongs, fangs and claws. And swords, of course. The first album has this early Entombed / Clandestine concupiscence that we sweat for and is a monster in itself. But without trying to diminish this marvel of an effort, the highest giant here is the second album. What an invincible Godzilla of sound and dark fury! Add to the Entombed layer the radioactive riffing of Dark Angel / Darkness Descends and some of the evil concussion of early Mutliplex. I am again becoming all wet just thinking about it. The truth is I am also listening to it while typing this. Once a day is a minimum. No, Gotsu-Totsu-Kotsu do not innovate a lot, but they don't need to. They reinvent the wheel and now it rolls even better thanks to their unlimited talent in song writing and execution. This is flawless, the solos are amazing, the riffing eats you from all angles, the vocals penetrate every pore of your amazed meat and the rhythm section is simply perfect. You have never heard such bass lines and rumbling sound in a thrash/death album. Long, flawless, purely organic songs, this is music for mammals. And there is a Pink Floyd cover. I am flabbergasted and we should all start a Gotsu-Totsu-Kotsu cult. Ezernal hyper granitic gratitude to Tosser for pointing me to Gotsu-Totsu-Kotsu. Formidable passion to CDJapan.co.jp for super prompt delivery, excellent prices, and general awesomeness in the catalog. The sun is shining. The universe is abundant. Mankind is great. ReplyDeleteNeed to get my sweaty hands on physical copies of these.
Merci, merci merci beaucuop, Msr. Zer!
And whats up with those Ningen Isu Guys? Are they that good?
CDJapan will be glad to deliver the CDs within 4 days.
DeleteNingen-Isu are also completely amazing. No thrash metal, more of a super powered multidimensional Black Sabbath/Melvins incarnation.
I uploaded the latest album on youtube, FLAC post coming soon:

Listened to the album today, quite strange, the whole mixture. This is going to take a couple of listens to get into the vibe of these guys.
DeleteWeird enough, some songparts remind me of Mind Over Four, maybe that's why you posted some of their stuff later.
Yes Ningen-Isu make a weird aggregation of rock, pop and metal with 70s influences and modern wizardry. It took me too a couple of listens to understand if I liked them. Once I was hooked, I could not stop tracking down their 20+ CDs.
DeleteI hadn't noticed the MoF connection, but now that you mention it, it makes sense.
