VASSAFOR - To The Death, 2020 Vinyl LP Album x 2 Iron Bonehead Productions - IBP479 Not a vinyl rip Very fast doom, very dark oppression, total zerification! This NZ blackness has an aura of Aussie war metal, with emphasis on the black. If, as you should as a true zerist, you are a total fan of Bathory's second album, you might be hooked like me at the very first play of Vassafor. The thick black juice that comes out of the loudspeakers when the Vassafor monster starts its work is the most exquisite drug - featuring masterful covers of Bathory, Sodom, Beherit, Bethlehem and probably others. Vassafor totally fit within this horde, they just go a little (or a lot) faster, and they have much longer songs (up to 23 minutes). The doom component is not just decorative, it permeates every barrel of tar Vassafor send in your general direction. This tar is extremely tasteful and addictive, catchy and distinct, not without melodies, and totally organic - free of the evils of the loudness war and of the clinical sterilization of excessively computerized recordings, Vassafor is like an update of the darkest pits of the 80s for the current era. The wet dream of the jaded eightiesaurus! An absolute black metal must! V for Vassafor! Remove brackets and unzip: [black metal matters] !ZER Vassafor ZER! |
