Altars Of Destruction - Gallery Of Pain, 2010 CD Album      Violent Journey Records - VJR 026 A quickie to gorge the aural conduits with fast fat aggression from the legacy of 80s thrash metal and crossover. This album is as short as it is intense and heavy. A strong sonic connection with the likes of the German 80s crossover thrash kings Erosion can easily be made, one finds here an echo of that kind of hostility and will to crush with panzer riffs and rhythmic artillery. Cyclone and Epidemic are other relevant references. This is 100% headbanging-to-fracture material with no attempt at pleasing the Anthrax crowd (calm down, I am an Anthrax fan!). A.O.D. is actually a genuine band from the 80s who waited over 20 years to release this only album. They seem still active, hopefully some new material shall be released before the next millennium.
