You always need new goregrind, new thrash metal and new funeral doom, but do you need new stoner rock? Actually yes, when done as perfectly as Acid Mammoth. Anyway with such a band name and excellent artwork, the Church had no choice but to check them out. Slower and heavier than a Black Sabbath reunion under radioactive water, as catchy as a cold virus, the first album firmly set Acid Mammoth in the Church flacotheque, then the three subsequent releases confirmed that this discography shall not be purged from the hard drives. It's just fucking great, like 90s stoner with more mass, huge riffs, haunting melodies and a great production for excellent songs. This is not the hostile, cold slow abrasion we relish from With The Dead for example, rather it is its seducing, warm evil twin that lures you into self indulgence.
