Herr Landfermann is a former Bethlehem vocalist and the bass player in the tech death machine Pavor. This eponymous effort had to be awesome. It is. It flies beyond the panorama of regular "avant-garde". Echoes of a funeral take on the madness of Imperial Triumphant is here combined with the black metal vibe of, natürlich, Bethlehem and some jazzy inputs. The whole thing sounds as clean as the artwork, then the calculated savagery of the very fast tracks bangs all heads while the smoother parts are no less crazier because Herr Landfermann never rests, even when the musicians do.
