The Church has been blasting the classic X-Creta since LP 1986 because it is one short bomb of crossover thrash. A Church classic! Face towards enemy. The only sadness has been the absence of any subsequent release. So when FOAD released the We Will Thrash You demo compilation, feverish excitement ensued. It is nicely packaged as all FOAD releases, and that's the only nice comment to make because the Church is now twice as frustrated about the lack of post-Patronizing release. The rehearsals and live recordings on the comp sound like shit, but Lärm and Rapt fans know how to deal with noise. Now boombox audience recordings are rarely a good experience, and here, they're not. Then there are the demos, and their juvenile punk rock, where even the killer songs later re-recorded for Patronizing are a drag, and they also sound very thin. "Interesting" (the worst comment about something) for the archeozerist wishing to complete his collection, but repeat playing shall top at 2 (the second one to make sure it is crap). Nothing on this compilation remotely matches the power and class found on Patronizing, it's amazing how fast this band matured from bad punk rock to deadly crossover thrash. Bang your head to that classic album and continue wishing we will find a door to a parallel universe where another couple of X-Creta albums exist!
