Today is the day to dive again into the classic Hallows Eve albums. The LP rips were posted 4 years ago, here are the CD rips from genuine reissues, NOT the abominably butchered remasters from the History Of Terror 2006 box-set. Tales Of Terror is still the infinite classic it ever was, I have always ranked it at Morbid Tales or Hell Awaits level, yes, that high. This album is irrevocably awesome from all angles and any Slayer | Iron Maiden fan can only melt when playing it. No fillers, no second rate songs, only mind-blowing speed metal! The album that never ages and always bangs your head! The other two are of course excellent too, and perfectly pass the test of time too, but they are somewhat just a little less exciting or simply less epic and catchy, or maybe it is just me. Triplazering Halloween til the end of the thrashiverse!

  2. When the first album was released, I heard "Plunging to Megadeath" and was blown away how fast and heavy it was. It was sort of a letdown when I bought it, because there was only one one or two other songs just as fast, and everything else on the record was just a heavier / thrashier version of Iron Maiden with D'ianno.
Good thing the songs and and the band sounded so good! It became one of my heavy metal faves like the debut LP's by Metal Church and Overkill.

    1. Despite the Metal Massacre VI introduction to the band via "Metal merchants", I must admit my first spin of the record was lightly tainted by a soft flavor of disappointment for not getting fast "Plunging" type songs only. But as a Di'Anno-era super-fan, I was conquered by the quality of the less thrashy songs. Much dynamics in this masterpiece.

    2. J'avais oublié ce petit bijou de speed. Merci. Je pense aussi à Exciter (la voix stridente !)
