Special Forces - Special Forces,
1987 Vinyl LP Album New Wave Records, New Wave Records - 020, N.W.020 One classic that is not worshiped enough! Textbook, exemplary 80s hardcore punk and proud of it, with all the energy, the abrasion and the urgency. After having been abysmally disappointed by the newest MDC album - a spectacular failure, the Special Forces record makes my day much brighter. Fans of true MDC, Capitol Punishment and the legion of others cannot bypass Special Forces! Remove brackets and unzip: [specializer] !ZER Special Forces ZER! |

Yes, the latest MDC album was a huge disappointment but this one rocks ! Thanks again for delivering the goods...
ReplyDeleteThank you for SF a novelty to me.
ReplyDeleteDo you know this artists below?
https://cellrothc.bandcamp.com/album/violent-spirals
https://haramharam.bandcamp.com/album/when-you-have-won-you-have-lost
https://madmensstt.bandcamp.com/ Their most recent record (Glitch) is way better. They have digested Prong very well.
I know none of these bands, thanks a lot for the links.
DeleteThat new MDC is terrible. Ripping off themselves is bad enough, but it's like they aren't even ripping off the good bits.
ReplyDeleteWell, we can't all grow old gracefully.
Couldn't have phrased it better.
DeleteThe guy who made the artwork on this LP (Kent Mathieu) did the artwork for Autopsy's Severed Survival (that first artwork that got banned later) and Verbal Abuse's Rock Your Liver LP among others... cool. Thanks. I never checked this out before, don't know why, it's pretty good record.
ReplyDeleteHadn't noticed, thanks for the tip.
