demo, 1993 when the kite string pops, 1994 edits (radio friendly versions of a few songs), 1994 paegan terrorist tactics, 1996 live (bootleg, not the DVD) Agents Of Oblivion, 2000 In my personnal Eternal Top 10, Acid Bath will always sit between positions 3 and 9. The week 'When the kite string pops' came out, I used to wake up 40 minutes earlier everyday just to listen to the CD before going to work. Having me get out of bed is something huge, believe me; the enormity of this feat will save me the usual comments on how AWESOME these albums are, so full of sludge death thrash doom (kite) and psycho rock (paegan) with a singer that rivals the guys from Bad Brains and Tool at the same time. ZER! Artwork: 'kite' painting by serial killer John Wayne Gacy, 'paegan' painting by serial euthanasist Dr Death. Zer. Agents of Oblivion is most of Acid Bath employees, a bit softer, as nauseously mesmerizing. Others went to the black metal factory called Goatwhore. 666 Audie Pitre RIP CD rip. For anyone questioning this review: don't!
ReplyDeleteIf the review has a fault, it is that Bath is not praised highly enough. Paegan Terrorism Tactics is the best dark album ever made. Period. It cracks the top ten of all albums of all time.
It is a tragedy that Audie died after only two albums. These guys could have joined the likes of Pearl Jam and Nirvana as being among the very few groups since the 70s with real staying power.
