It's so classic that the incredible 1st album still sounds as fresh and as powerful as ever. That's what pioneers do. And of course they were amazing live (and still must be). My band even had the privilege to open for them in '89 or '90 (Lyon). Favourites? Dead Cops, Damn Christians, Elvis and the 7" comp. Zer factor explosion! Another great post! The wife also loves MDC as do I. We went and saw them in '04 of '05 when the original line up toured. They played a jaw-dropping show in Dallas with Verbal Abuse. VA seriously rocked, yes my lived!, and somehow MDC topped them. I saw MDC about 12 or 13 years earlier and they were a bit flat but they still put on a hell of a show!
ReplyDeleteThis to me is the most ZER post of all time! Though never seeing MDC live I owned everything they put out in the 80's. S.K.I.N.H.E.A.D. is my favorite! Thanks for posting!!!!! 80's Punk/Metal/Hardcore/Thrash rules!!!!! necksnap
ReplyDeleteNO WAR, NO KKK, NO FASCIST USA !!!

ReplyDeleteConvertido: nice family tastes in music! :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah the MDC line-up of the 90s wasn't the most intense, but the guitarist with the head of Satan on the back of his instrument was funny! And good.
Great band!! Allways favourite of mine. I first saw them in the early 90's when the album "Hey cop, if i had a face like yours" was released and they ruled! (Btw, in my opinion this album is one of their best works) By this time Bill Collins from Special Forces was playing guitar, and you could appreciate his contribution to the energy which was delivered onstage.
ReplyDeleteMDC is the messiah.
ReplyDeleteThank you
