Death metal from the parallel zeriverse! Absolution of the perfected defenestration! Legend of ass-kicking and neuron-burning! Ripping Corpse were one of a kind, a star in the dark night of early death metal. The rage of Sadus and Dark Angel and the technicality of Atheist at the speed of Morbid Angel, combined with world class riffs - those riffs!!! - and crazy vocals that do not match the cookie monster standard, plus the formidable mega armaggeddon death and surgery of the rhythm section produce a unique and way too short of a classic. Dreaming With The Dead is also a monster because it is not devoid of hooks and catchy sonic phrases that propel the whole even higher and further, making it so memorable, and perfect. That's again because the riffs are so incredibly awesome. I rank it in the galaxy of Blessed Are The Sick and Demilich. It could come out today and be album of the year.
Dim Mak is the band 3/5 of the RC members started in the 90s. The first two album are more or less followers of DWTD, and then come the last two albums, the ultimate beasts of death. Knives Of Ice is my favorite, a relentless, modernized pulverization of everything yet still with those immense riffs that stick to the neuron. Altars is a little darker, moodier and tortuous but has no less qualities, it just requires a little more playing. Those riffs!!! Terrific zerification in the riffing and complete bliss in the earslaughter! The ultimate deathonizer!
